Smith Hart; Oldest Son of Stu Hart, Passes Away

Stu Hart, father, founded Stampede Wrestling in Calgary, Alberta. I’m sure there are many that went to the Saturday night draws – either willing or dragged by your parent – to the Edmonton Sales Pavilion. The Hart family had 12 children: Smith, Bruce, Keith, Wayne, Dean, Ellie, Georgia, Bret, Alison, Ross, Diana and Owen.

This is the third adult children to have died in the Hart family.

Dean Hart, suffered serious injuries in 1978 when struck by a city bus, the accident severely damaged his kidneys. He eventually died of kidney disease on November 21, 1990 at the age of 36.

Owen Hart, died on May 23, 1999, when he was 34 ,when an equipment malfunction occurred during his entrance from the rafters of Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Missouri, U.S.A.

Then on July 2, 2017, Smith Hart, an American/Canadian professional wrestler, died of prostate cancer after entering hospice care . He was 68 years old. No service announcements have been made yet.

Predeceased by both of their parents, Stu Hart died in October 16, 2003 due to complications fro,pneumonia and other health issues. Helen passed way in 2001 from complications following a stroke. She was 76. They had been married for 53 years.

    Use to love going to the corral every Saturday for wrestling. My aunt was 1 of the ushers, Duke Meyers was my adopted uncle. Met most of the Hart family along with their “enemies” Tom aka dynamite kid kazavubu who was an english professor at a university jr Foley (my mom has that cane he always had) so many and they were all great <3 RIP Smith
