Check Out Edmonton Artist Laurel Hawkswell • She Specializes in Character Drawing, and She’s Remarkable

Laurel Hawkswell is an Edmonton artist that specializes in incredible character drawing.

EDMONTON — I’ve been meaning to shine the spotlight on Laurel Hawkswell now for quite some time, but life and other news had gotten in the way. Finally, I am here writing about her incredible skill. She enjoys drawing characters of locals at special events, and she’s simply amazing at what she does.

Hawkswell has been drawing characters for many years, and it shows. Her work shows such great detail with so little detail – if that even makes any sense.

She calls them Caricatures, and they go for $10 per person, which if you ask me, is an absolute steal.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at just some of her most recent work:

She does much more than character drawings, too. Here’s one of her latest paintings for YEG Art Walk:

We hope you enjoyed her lovely work!

Feel free to check out her Twitter page for more! She’s continuously adding more each passing week.

Hawkswell also has her own website which can be found at

If you wish to hire her for an event or for some character drawings, I’m sure she wouldn’t mind hearing from you! She’s done work for birthdays, so that may be something she would consider.
