Edmonton Cash Cows Presents: Cash Cow Extravaganza Chapter 2

The Cash Cow Extravaganza Event Calendar Page

Who started all of this?
The Edmonton Cash Cows movement was started by Edmontonian Jack Shultz. We have written about Jack Shultz on multiple occasions here at ETN.

( Article 1 / Article 2 / Article 3 )

He has been warning drivers about hidden photo radar trucks in Edmonton for several months now, and has milked nearly 200 photo radar trucks. (“Milked” meaning he warns drivers about the hidden truck until the truck operator leaves the location.)

Why did he start this?
Jack Shultz and the thousands and thousands of followers he has gathered over the months feel that photo radar in Edmonton is a cash cow. (“Cash cow” meaning photo radar is not being deployed around Edmonton for the safety of people driving on our roads, but rather, about making a bucket load of money.)

Because of this, something had to be done, as things were getting a little too unreasonable. Tickets are being given out for as low as 6 – 10km/hr over the speed limit, which honestly, is not endangering the public. Before the City of Edmonton took over photo radar, the Edmonton Police Service was only ticketing for those exceeding the posted speed limit by 15km/hr or over. But besides that, receiving a ticket in the mail two weeks after an infraction is not nearly as effective as receiving a ticket by a police officer and loosing demerit points moments after you were caught speeding.

Supporters growing by the day
When Jack Shultz started all of this, he was just a one-man show, heading out almost daily, to search for and milk new cows.

Today, that is no longer the case. There are now a number of leaders in the group, including but not limited to Mr. Shultz & Steve Friske, with thousands of supporters from a number of related local Facebook groups.

The Edmonton Cash Cows Facebook page sits at just shy of 1,000 followers now. The group was just started in mid-May of this year. Like them on Facebook!
