Cineplex is opening their new premier eats & entertainment destination in Edmonton.
EDMONTON — The Rec Room will boast over 60,000 sq/ft of entertainment space and Canadian-inspired dining and gaming options. Want to experience axe throwing? You can do it here. How about virtual reality? Yup, they’ve got that, too.
This will be the new go-to place for children’s parties, as well as teen and young adult outings. In fact, they expect it to be a big hit for those in their twenties and thirties.
According to Cineplex, “The Rec Room is set to revolutionize entertainment in Canada.” That’s a pretty heavy statement, so here’s to hoping it lives up to its expectations.

The massive building has enough room to fit 1,200 customers comfortably over its two floors.
There will be 140 arcade games where customers can win points and then later use their points to redeem prizes.
Other entertainment will include billiards, bowling alleys, table tennis, foosball, and an outdoor bocce court on the upper floor patio.
An auditorium for concerts and other live entertainment will be able to seat 225 people.
A massive 15-meter HD movie screen along with two smaller 10-meter HD screens will be seen above the main level’s central bar.
There will be multiple bars and restaurants found throughout the 60,000 square foot building.
