SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS — Longview; South of Calgary

A third tornado in Alberta in just three days is highly probable.

UPDATE — at 5:45 PM, Environment Canada has dropped the possibility of a tornado, and the alert is now stating sever thunderstorm. Remain safe out there.

At 5:00 PM this evening, Environment Canada released an alert stating that there is severe weather happening just south of Calgary.

This is the third possible tornado to occur in the province in just three days.

The emergency alert notice:


If you or someone you know is in or near the area, please inform them to remain indoors, and to week shelter, preferably in a basement.

If you are driving on a highway nearby, if a tornado forms nearby, park your vehicle and seek shelter in a ditch.
