UPDATED: MISSING PERSON, EDMONTON: William David Smith, Age 28, Last Seen July 17th

The Edmonton Police Service is asking for the public’s help in finding William Smith.

UPDATE, JULY 25, 2016: I regret to inform that William has been found deceased. His father writes:

MISSING PERSON, EDMONTON — Smith was last seen on July 17, 2016. He was reported missing later that day by his immediate family.

It is believed that Smith was in the area of Holden, Alberta. Holden is roughly 100 kilometers northeast of Edmonton.

Smith is described as:
  • Caucasian
  • Shaved brown hair
  • Blue eyes
  • 5 foot 8 inches tall
  • 240 pounds

He drives a 1992 blue Ford F-150 truck that has a large dent on the rear passenger panel and the license plate is ‘NAF 670’.

The latest on his disappearance via Global News:

Smith’s cellphone was last used near Tofield, Alberta, 70 kilometers east of Edmonton.

The family became concerned about Smith’s safety after receiving strange text messages from Smith’s phone.
