Mixx on Whyte will be replaced by a brand new club under new ownership this fall.
EDMONTON — Mixx on Whyte, a nightclub situated on Whyte Avenue that plays today’s favorite top 40 mashups and party anthems, has casually announced that they will be closing their doors indefinitely.
They announced this through a Facebook event post stating that they will be holding their “grand finale” event this upcoming Tuesday, August 30th. The event will be taking place starting at 11:00 PM, running until 2:00 AM the next morning.
Mixx on Whyte writes on Facebook:
We’re “mixing” it up and about to embark on something new. Mixx on Whyte will be closing its doors for the last time August 30th, for the best TOCA Tuesday you’ve ever experienced! Join us for one last party before we reveal a new club under new ownership in the fall. No cover all night!Mixx on Whyte

Will it be bumpin’? — At the time of this posting, 51 people have expressed interest in attending and 22 others have confirmed that they will be attending. It will probably be a packed house, despite the event being held on a Tuesday.
Where is Mixx located? — Mixx on Whyte is located at 10551 82 (Whyte) Avenue on the south side of the river in Edmonton.
If you plan on attending the event, we hope that you have a great time! Be safe out there, and if I may state the obvious here for just a brief moment — please don’t drink and drive.
Well I can see why.
Why’s that?
They played terrible music.
No one ever went there.
Heh, fair enough. I’ve been there once a few years back with a friend when I first moved to Edmonton. It was alright, but never returned. I must say, it was very busy though, but that was years ago so things may have changed.
Here’s to hoping whatever takes its place is better accustomed to Whyte frequenters. 🙂
