‘Nations Experience’ centres are Nations Fresh Foods’ latest ‘shopping + eating + playing’ concept, and it’s working really well.

Good morning dear readers! Edmonton Talks News is finally back after nine months of being away! It’s Jody Mitoma here, and I’d just like to apologize for the unexpected down time. I will personally be writing about news that I find interesting, that I feel others will find interest in as well.

Edmonton Talks News has had many writers over the past two years, but alas I am personally back at it again, writing short-but-informative articles about interesting Canadian-related things for you every single day. I am very much looking forward to it, too! I’ve actually missed it quite a bit.

Thank you all for your loyalty, and thank you for reading! Alright, now let’s get to the actual article you came here to read about:

CANADA | The plan is to take over a large number of Sears Canada and Target Canada buildings that still remain unoccupied today. Nations Experience is a different kind of shopping experience. It provides a one-stop solution for doing your grocery shopping, with a great deal of fast food options in its dedicated food hall, a shopping centre and a theme park, arcade and virtual reality for the kids, just to put the icing on the cake.

The company hopes to roll out their successful concept; which was initially unveiled in Toronto in the fall of 2017, nationwide with haste, with at least one Nations Experience in every major Canadian city. The all-in-one building also provides children’s play areas, game rooms, and party rooms.

Frank Ho, the Senior Vice President of Nations Experience, says that the entertainment area in Toronto’s location, which is 30,000 square feet, should have been three times the size, so it’s to be expected that these ‘mini West Edmonton Malls’ will indeed be quite large, and it looks like, despite having the real West Edmonton Mall, we can probably expect one to be announced in Edmonton sometime in the near future. The entire Nations Experience centre in Toronto is 200,000 square feet in size. Just to give you an idea of how big that is, if you’ve ever seen ‘The Rec Room’ at South Edmonton Common, that building is 60,000 square feet, meaning that the Nations Experience building in the Greater Toronto Area is nearly four times the size… That’s simply enormous.

Nations Experience is a part of Nations Fresh Foods out of Woodbridge, Ontario. The company was established in August of 2012 as a multicultural grocery store. With their latest concept, it looks like their future will be far more than just grocery stores.
