Pets in the Park, featuring this year’s Walk Marshal Jann Arden, is a free event that celebrates our furry friends! The dollars raised are crucial for the Edmonton Humane Society to care for, treat and help find forever homes for homeless, neglected and abused animals.
I am so excited to attend Pets in the Park 2017 which takes place this Sunday June 25th from 9am to 4pm at the William Hawrelak Park (9330 Groat Road). This is Edmonton’s official Pet Festival and is the only day pets are welcome in the park! This year, the event celebrates 25 years of the park being open to all our furriends.
As a self proclaimed crazy cat lady (and proud of it!), I am planning to take my cat, Kitty Mojito to check out the festivities.
This event offers something for everyone! From live demos, canine carnival and kids’ entertainment to food trucks and Edmonton’s only all-ages, pet friendly beer garden, you’re sure to have a furrbulous time!
Enjoy a craft beer while taking in the activities happening at the Entertainment Stage which will host family friendly shows as well as the sounds of Edmonton modern rockers, Lusitania Lights at 3 p.m
FOR KIDS (and kids at heart!)
The South Stage will host a Sing and Dance along with Elsa, Ana and Olaf at 12pm and get ready to save the world with Spidey and Batgirl at 2pm. Make sure to keep an eye out for Ryder and his team of pups on Patrol too! There will also be bouncy castles, face painting, fire trucks and more!! Kids can also adopt their very own EHS puppy or kitten stuffie!!

Got a dachshund or dachshund-cross? Let them try their luck to win the title of “Fastest Wiener in Edmonton” at the dachshund races (1:30 p.m)
REMEMBER: All pets must be properly restrained at all times (on a leash or in a carrier). For the safety of human and animal guests, retractable leashes are NOT allowed.
